Mr Eazi has revealed why he deliberately avoids listening to songs by Burna Boy, even though he greatly admires him.

Mr Eazi Protecting His Unique Sound
During a conversation on the Afropolitan Podcast, Mr Eazi explained that he made the decision to protect the unique sound that launched his career.
However, he made it clear that no personal conflict exists between him and Burna Boy.
Instead, he said he respects the Grammy-winning singer and values his talent.
According to Mr Eazi, Burna Boy’s music carries such a strong influence that it could easily shape his own style if he listens too often.
He also pointed out that they both share deep vocal tones, so traces of Burna Boy’s delivery could naturally slip into his recordings without intention.

As a result, the ‘Skin Tight’ singer limits how much of Burna Boy’s catalogue he listens to because he wants to preserve his originality and maintain the sound that first connected him with fans.
“I don’t like listening to Burna Boy’s songs — I’ve said it before.
If I listen to so much Burna, you’ll hear it in my music,” he said.
Furthermore, Mr Eazi explained that Burna Boy’s artistic style strongly affects the way he records music.
Therefore, he chooses to keep some distance from the songs while still appreciating the artist behind them.
