FA Cup: Mason Greenwood makes history in Man United’s 6-0 thrashing of Tranmere

Manchester United forward, Mason Greenwood on Sunday made history in his side’s FA Cup 6-0 thrashing of Tranmere Rovers at Prenton Park.

Greenwood converted a second half penalty against the host to take his tally to 10 goals for the Red Devils so far this season.

According to Metro UK, the 18-year-old is now the youngest United player to score ten goals for the club since Norman Whiteside in 1984 (36 years ago).

Captain Harry Maguire had opened the scoring for the visitors before Diogo Dalot, Jesse Lingard, Phil Jones, and Anthony Martial made it 5-0 for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side at half time.

Mason Greenwood scored a goal in the second half to ensure Man United qualified for the fifth round of the competition.

United will now take on Manchester City in their next fixture in the Carabao Cup semi-final second leg tie on Wednesday at Old Trafford.
