The final Merseyside derby at Everton’s famous old ground ended on a heated note as the hosts held Liverpool to a 2-2 draw following a last-minute equaliser from James Tarkowski.
The English defender’s stunning half-volley in the 98th minute was cleared after a VAR check for offside, however, replays showed that Ibrahima Konate might have been shoved in the penalty area.
After the match, Reds boss Arne Slot angrily confronted referee Michael Oliver and was immediately shown a straight red card, while Abdoulaye Doucoure sparked a brawl that saw him and Curtis Jones shown red, too.
