Aston Villa star Morgan Rogers has backed Manchester United loanee Marcus Rashford to provide a boost to the Villans for the rest of this season.
Aston Villa signed Rashford on loan from Manchester United on deadline day this winter after the 27-year-old was cast out of the Red Devils’ squad by Ruben Amorim due to attitude issues.
Rashford made his debut for Unai Emery’s side against Tottenham Hotspur in the FA Cup fourth round as a second-half substitute and saw his side win 2-1.
Aston Villa were busy in the winter transfer window as they also signed Marco Asensio on loan from Paris Saint-Germain, and the former Real Madrid starlet also made his debut alongside Rashford.
Rogers scored the Villans’ second goal on the night and the midfielder has now opened up on the two new big-name arrivals as Villa continue to chase European football.
Speaking to the media, Rogers said: “It pushes us along, we want to take what we can from the experienced players in the squad.
“It’s massive to have people like that in the building and hopefully we can just push each other.
“The second goal was important, we played well but we hadn’t killed the game off.”
