There is nothing more deadlier than a situation where love turns into fury and hate.
A 19-year-old girl, Ramatoulie Baldeh, has been arrested for setting fire to her boyfriend’s family home in Kerr Sering, Gambia.
The incident occurred on Tuesday, February 4, 2025 following a dispute with her boyfriend.
According to Gambia media, Ramatoulie lit a plastic bag and threw it onto the bed before opening a gas cylinder.
However, the fire quickly spread, engulfing the entire house and destroying all belongings.
Although no injuries were reported, the fire caused extensive damage.
An unnamed source and neighbor shared an insight on what may have transpired. The source said; “They always have a fight, and when they fight the girl always try to spoil something.
It went to a point where the neighbors got tired of separating them from fighting, and that night they fought after the girl went to a secret night club which is just 4 minutes walk from their house. But the says she’s tired of the relationship.
Anytime she wants to leave, the boy says No, and this is what she can do for the relationship to end,” the source said.
At the time of the incident, there were 10 tenants in the compound.

In addition, the fire spread to their apartments, leaving them with nothing.
One of the affected tenants told journalists,
“We are now homeless, with all our belongings destroyed. We urgently need help.”

The suspect is currently in custody at the Senegambia Police Station as CID officers continue their investigation.
