Former Al-Nassr boss Luis Castro heaped praise on Cristiano Ronaldo as he shared details of his relationship with the Portuguese icon.
Castro joined Al-Nassr in July 2023 and served as the club’s manager for just over a year. In September 2024, the Saudi giants parted ways with the Portuguese coach and replaced him with former AC Milan boss Stefano Pioli.
Under Castro’s tutelage, Al-Nassr won the Arab Club Champions Cup but they finished second in the Saudi Pro League, 14 points behind champions Al-Hilal.
They were also eliminated from the AFC Champions League at the quarter-final stage.
Five months after leaving the Middle Eastern club, Castro has opened up on the relationship he shared with star player Ronaldo as he labelled the Portugal legend a “sensitive person”.
Under Castro’s tutelage, Ronaldo hit 50 goals in the 2023-24 campaign across all competitions.
Speaking to Al Eqtisadiah, the ex-Al-Nassr manager said when quizzed on his relationship with Ronaldo:
“A wonderful relationship between two people who respect each other a lot and I really enjoyed working with him.
“He is a respectful, sensitive and determined person.
“The values of respect, courage and commitment always accompany him.”
