In Lagos State, a new programme will be helping students get ready for their exams and achieve their goals.
The Lagos State Government has unveiled the EKO Learners’ Support Programme, a groundbreaking initiative designed to aid students preparing for the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) and National Examinations Council (NECO) exams.
Lagos Launches Programme
Speaking during the launch at the Education Resource Centre, Ojodu, Lagos, the Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Jamiu Alli-Balogun, emphasised the importance of education in shaping society.
“Education remains the foundation of societal development, and this program is a step towards equipping our students for academic success,” he stated.
Accessible Learning Resources
The programme will provide 320 lessons across 10 critical subjects, including English, Mathematics, and Physics.
These lessons will be broadcast on Lagos Television and shared on social media platforms such as YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram.

Alli-Balogun highlighted the accessibility of the materials, saying, “Each episode will be archived for permanent access, allowing students to learn at their own pace while engaging with teachers and peers online.”
Lagos Gov Encourages Students
The commissioner encouraged students to maximise the programme’s resources, emphasising their role in achieving success.
“Your hard work and dedication are the keys to unlocking your potential,” he noted.
He also expressed gratitude to educators, partners, and stakeholders, saying: “This initiative is the result of collaboration and a shared commitment to excellence in education.”
This innovative programme is part of Lagos State’s broader efforts to improve educational outcomes and prepare students for excellence in their examinations and beyond.
