Ondo State Governor-elect Lucky Aiyedatiwa and his deputy, Olayide Adelami are both gearing up to receive their certificates of return from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
It was reported that the official ceremony will hold at the commission’s headquarters in Abuja on Wednesday, November 20.
This latest development was brought to public notice by Rotimi Oyekanmi, the Chief Press Secretary to the INEC Chairman, on Monday.
“The certificates of return will be presented by the commission to the governor-elect and his deputy on Wednesday,” Oyekanmi said.
Aiyedatiwa, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), was declared the winner of the governorship election which held across the state on Saturday.
Furthermore, he secured 366,781 votes, defeating the Peoples Democratic Party’s Agboola Ajayi, who garnered 117, 845 votes.
Additionally, the governor-elect won by a big margin, winning all 18 local government areas of the state.

Aiyedatiwa is set to begin a fresh term in office.
There are high expectations that his administration to address critical developmental challenges in the state.
Meanwhile, former president, Muhammadu Buhari and may other notable Nigerians have congratulated Aiyedatiwa on his victory.
However, there are many others who believe that the governor-elect won the election by rigging, a pattern they claim is well-known with his party, APC.
