The theme for the next Met Gala and its celebrity chairs have been revealed. Pharrell Williams, Lewis Hamilton, Colman Domingo, A$AP Rocky, and LeBron James will join forces to help the Metropolitan Museum of Art launch an exhibition exploring Black style across the centuries.
Williams and Hamilton were present on Wednesday, October 9, 2024, as museum officials announced the exhibit, titled “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” set to debut at the Met Gala on 5 May 2025.
Vogue editor Anna Wintour, who oversees the gala, will serve as a co-chair, alongside James, who will hold the honourary chair position.
The Met Gala red carpet remains one of the most anticipated pop culture events of the year, featuring stars such as Lady Gaga, Kim Kardashian, Billy Porter, and Rihanna, all showcasing outfits aligned with the evening’s theme.
The event is also a major fundraiser, with 2024 gala raising a record-breaking $26 million.
The dress code, traditionally inspired by the exhibit’s theme, will be announced in early 2025.
