The Owa Obokun of Ijesaland, Oba Gabriel Adekunle Aromolaran, has passed away.
Sources in the palace, said Oba Aromolaran passed away on Wednesday after a brief illness.
Though, palace of Owa Obokun has not issued any official statement as regards the passage of the monarch, but sources within the palace confirmed the death.
“Baba has passed, but we are waiting for officials announcement from the palace.
“You can see that they have started performing some traditional rites. This has to be done before any announcement can be made, she added.
A reporter who visited the palace observed the presence of security personnel around the palace.

Furthermore, it was observed that some traditional rites performed following the demise of a king are being carried out.
The monarch reigned for over 40 years.
