The 2024 MTV Video Music Awards took place on Wednesday night, September 11, 2024, with top artistes like Taylor Swift, Chappell Roan, and Sabrina Carpenter arriving at the UBS Arena in Elmont, New York.
Megan Thee Stallion hosted the event. LL Cool J, Eminem, and Shawn Mendes performed. Katy Perry, Benson Boone, Anitta, and Karol G also took the stage. Camila Cabello, Halsey, and more performed too.
Taylor Swift won big. She took home seven awards. These included Video of the Year for “Fortnight” with Post Malone. She also won Artiste of the Year and Best Collaboration.
Sabrina Carpenter won Song of the Year, while Chappell Roan was honoured as Best New Artiste.
Eminem won Best Hip-Hop for “Houdini”, SZA took home Best R&B for “Snooze”, and Megan Thee Stallion won Best Trending Video for “Mamushi” featuring Yuki Chiba.
In the Best Afrobeats category, Tyla secured the win with her song “Water”.
Katy Perry was honoured with the Video Vanguard Award.
