It would have been a tragic scene in Abuja, Nigeria’s Federal Capital Territory, as a man, identified as Shuaibu Yusuf took the road of a sacrificial lamb for Nigerians.
The near-tragic incident occurred on Monday, as residents went about their usual business.
That was when Yusuf saw the perfect opportunity to make a statement that would be heard in Abuja and beyond.
He climbed a transmission mast in Katampe Hill, Abuja and threatened to jump down, except his demands were met.
Yusuf came fully prepared, he had a hand-written note addressed to President Bola Tinubu, which detailed his demands.

The man demanded the reversal of the fuel subsidy removal policy, the reopening of the borders for food importation, declaration of a state of emergency on insecurity in Nigeria, and others.

While calling on other Nigerians to join him in protest, he expressed readiness to sacrifice his life in order to get a solution to the problems.
After numerous pleas from emergency responders, Yusuf eventually descended from the mast and was subsequently apprehended by the police.
