The Paralympic Village is ready for the 2024 Paris Games, with preparations underway to welcome 4,400 athletes from 160 nations.
The village, spanning 70 football pitches, will open its doors to athletes on Wednesday, August 21, 2024, and offers various amenities, including a large refectory, sports hall, training fields, polyclinic, prayer rooms, and anti-doping center.
Accessibility is a top priority, with features like ramps, micromobility services, and adaptable dining facilities.
“All the Paralympic village is already prepared,” said Laurent Michaud, Director of the Olympic and Paralympic Villages.
“So to welcome the athletes Paralympic, before we created the Olympic Village. So all the public spaces are ready to welcome them, because it was made also for the legacy for after the Games.”
Ottobock, a partner of the Games, has set up a repair center for prostheses, wheelchairs, and orthoses, expecting to carry out around 2,000 repairs during the event.
The village’s design ensures that all public spaces are accessible, creating a welcoming environment for athletes with disabilities.
The 2024 Paralympic Games will take place from August 28 to September 8, featuring 549 events across 22 sports.
