Renowned rapper and producer, Dr. Dre, was honored on Tuesday at a prestigious Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony, where his very own star was unveiled along the iconic boulevard.
The star was dedicated to Dr. Dre in the category of Recording, recognising his exceptional contributions to the music industry.
A host of stars attended the ceremony, including fellow rapper Snoop Dogg, whose star lies adjacent to Dr. Dre’s new accolade.
Snoop Dogg, visibly moved, took to the podium to express heartfelt gratitude to his brother from another mother.
He praised Dr. Dre for their legendary partnership, his meticulous attention to detail, and the magical music they have created together in the studio.
He said: “I want to thank me. I want to thank me for taking the call from Warren and Dr. Dre in 1991.
“I want to thank me for listening to Dre over the years and letting him be my teacher, mentor, brother, guardian, protector and most importantly a good friend”.
Dr. Dre, reflecting on his journey, shared poignant words at the ceremony.
He said: “Growing up in Compton, I never imagined that one day I would be represented here among some of my childhood heroes”.
