However, an incident involving Mavin signee Ayra Starr recently grabbed attention due to a breach of these customary greetings.
Ayra Starr found herself in the midst of controversy when a video surfaced on the internet showing her allegedly disrespecting two prominent figures , King Sunny Ade, a legendary musician, and Burna Boy’s mother, Boss Ogulu.
In the video, Ayra Starr appeared to snub Burna Boy’s mother while greeting a woman seated beside her.
She then proceeded to greet King Sunny Ade by shaking his hands, a gesture considered inappropriate given the traditional customs.
Following the public backlash on social media, Ayra Starr took to her official social media account to issue a public apology on a Saturday, January 27, 2024.
