Elton John has joined the EGOT club by winning an Emmy for “Elton John Live: Farewell From Dodger Stadium” in the Outstanding Variety Special (Live) category.
This achievement aligns him with other notable EGOT winners like Rita Moreno, Jennifer Hudson, Whoopi Goldberg, and Viola Davis.
Throughout his career, Elton John has earned six Grammys, a Tony for “Aida,” and two Oscars for songs such as “Can You Feel the Love Tonight?” from “The Lion King”.
John couldn’t attend the Emmys ceremony due to a knee operation. The show’s executive producer, Ben Winston, accepted the award on John’s behalf.
