Controversial media personality, Speed Darlington, has been released on bail from police custody after fulfilling the required conditions.
His release came on Tuesday and was announced by human rights lawyer, Deji Adeyanju, via his account on X.
According to Adeyanju, Speed Darlington was arrested in Lagos last Friday and was later transferred to Abuja.
However, he faced detention following a formal complaint lodged by Grammy-winning artist Burna Boy.
The complaint stemmed from accusations of defamation and cyberstalking, with Burna Boy specifically targeting comments made by Darlington.

In his remarks, he taunted Burna Boy’s association with the controversial US rapper Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, who is currently facing several serious allegations.
This includes sexual exploitation and human trafficking.
In light of the video, police took swift action, leading to Darlington’s covert arrest.
However, following his release, Adeyanju expressed gratitude to those who contributed to securing Speed Darlington’s freedom.
“Special appreciation to #YeleSowore, super reliable senior lawyer #stanalieke, and to all Nigerians for raising their voice for Speed Darlington,” Adeyanju stated
