You may be wondering why ‘Buhari’ and Tinubu are trending on X (formerly Twitter). Well, so many issues of great concern were brought up today and the former president seems to be at the center of it all.
However, among these numerous issues, one particularly stood out.
From the thousands of tweets shared by Nigerians, it is becoming clear that many persons are already missing the former president, Buhari.
This category of people is of the opinion that the hardship Nigerians experienced in the eight years of the Buhari-led government is nothing compared to what they are facing under the current administration. It is just barely 5 months since Tinubu took over.
Sadly, a large number of the public shares this view.
This outpour of emotions for Nigerians is not a new thing, in fact, it is gradually becoming a norm.
Few months into the administration of Buhari, the same had played out, with Nigerians saying they missed the previous government of Goodluck Jonathan.
Baby Sacrifice
A few months into his administration, after the effect of his fuel subsidy removal had shown Nigerians what many described as ‘Renewed Shege’, President Tinubu had told Nigerians to endure what he tagged as ‘Baby Sacrifice’.
Perhaps Nigerians did not fully comprehend what this ‘Baby Sacrifice’ entails. Maybe they did but thought it would be for only a short period of time like the few months of staying awake after giving birth to a new baby.
You see, Nigerians are eager and desperate for a better country, hence, if enduring a little hardship is all it takes, they were ready for it.
Now, as the hardship continues to linger, with the Tinubu administration failing on its palliative promise, many say they now miss the previous government.
Also, the sharing of brand-new SUV cars to lawmakers in the country while the poor masses are made to believe that the country is poor has triggered a different kind of anger.
Nigerians Miss Buhari
The Bola Tinubu administration from all indications appears very strange to Nigerians.
This is as they begin to experience things they had never experienced before.

Prior to this time, it was the opposition parties and their supporters that cried out on a daily basis, but now even supporters of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) can no longer endure.
Many supporters of the ruling party have publicly expressed regrets over their decision to vote-in this administration.
On the other hand, many of them are ashamed to speak ill of the government they once convinced others to vote for.
Reactions
Many who are bold enough have taken to the social media to pour out their grievances over the lingering hardship rocking Nigeria.
They have looked in the crystal ball but have not seen any silver lining.
Below are some of the reactions gathered:

I knew Tinubu had nothing to offer Nigerians but I didn’t expect total collapse like this so fast.
I thought Buhari had done his worst and he should get lost. But look at us now.
Swift collapse
Nigerians can barely catch their breath.

The people that claimed they regretted voting Buhari are now telling us that they are beginning to fear the Tinubu they voted is already failing.
