Chibuikem Diala is the Director of media and publicity of the Labour Party’s governorship candidate in the state, Athan Achonu.

He confirmed the scheduled participation of Peter Obi in the rally in a statement issued in Owerri on Tuesday.

He stated that Uchonu has gained the trust and support of Imo citizens,

“Obi, who will join the campaign rally of Senator Athan Achonu, the party’s gubernatorial candidate in the Imo State gubernatorial election in November, in Orlu, shall convince the people of the need to vote for the Labour Party and its candidate.

“Achonu has continued to garner unprecedented groundswell support across the state, with sustained grassroots engagements.

He is holding crowd-pulling rallies in the 27 local government areas of the state.

“So far, Agu Otu Aka (One-Arm General), as Achonu is fondly called, has campaigned in 15 LGAs.

Acceptability

“The mammoth crowd that has been turning out to hear him has left no one in doubt about his acceptability to the people.

“Achonu’s selling point is his believability which he has demonstrated in practical terms.

He has demonstrated what his incoming administration could do to turn around the fortunes of the prostrate state, unlike his opponents.

“The Aku Ruo Ulo advocate is a serial investor with multi-billion-Naira investments, especially in the agro-sector and has several hundreds of people in his employment,” the statement read.
