Clout Chasers: Nigerians Slam Tonto Dikeh, Iyabo Ojo Over Mohbad’s Coffin

Since the death of Mohbad, many Nigerians have come out to show support, while many have looked for ways to exploit it.

It is that exploitation that sympathisers and mourners of the late singer do not want to see.

Now, some people in the entertainment industry are getting the hammer for sharing videos of what they are doing to give the later singer a befitting burial.

Popular Nollywood stars, Iyabo Ojo and Tonto Dikeh and those on the balance.

They are getting slammed for posting a video of themselves shopping for a casket.

Clout Chasers

The distasteful video circulated on Thursday showing the actresses looking for a perfect size for the late artiste Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad.

In the video, Ojo said they should select a white coffin because ‘Imole’, Mohbad’s nickname means light.

Also, she said Dikeh was going to pay for the coffin they select.

After Mohbad died in early September at the age of 27, his family hurriedly buried him in Ikorodu, Lagos inside what was a smaller coffin.

Those who buried him had to push his head to a side to fit him into the coffin, triggering insinuations and speculations of a cover.

The complaints led to an exhumation and autopsy. Since those have been done, Nigerians expect the singer to be properly buried in a fitting casket.

When the video of the actresses went viral, social media users began condemning them.

Dipo Awoiide tweeted: “This is excessive. I doubt reasonable person will record and share a video of themselves shopping for a casket for their family member.

“This video should not exist and certainly shouldn’t be on the internet. This is very unfortunate”.

Another social media user said: “Two clout chasers doing everything for the camera”.
