Reactions As RCCG Pastor Emerges Traditional Ruler In Oyo State

When the righteous rule, the people rejoice, is one of the rarely quoted scriptures in Nigeria and sometimes it appears that religious leaders avoid it.

Maybe they are not enthusiastic enough to tell the rulers to eschew bad tendencies and be men who fear God.

Now, the mantle of traditional rulership has come upon a ‘man of God’, a pastor with the Redeemed Christian Church Of God (RCCG), Prince Afolabi Ghandi Olaoye.

Recently, Prince Olaoye, was made the Soun-elect of Ogbomoso Land in Oyo State.

Now that decision and acceptance make tongues wag.

Indeed, these days, one cannot know what to expect in Nigeria, unbelievable reports emerge daily from every corner of the country.

In fact, the emergence of a pastor as a traditional ruler to many is unusual.

It was on Saturday that the Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, revealed that the emergence of Ghandi. His emergence came after long-drawn processes specified under the law.

The Soun-elect

Makinde announced this in a statement by the state Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Olusegun Olayiwola.

According to the Commissioner, the exalted position now places the Soun-elect in the position to facilitate harmony, understanding and tolerance amongst his people.

Furthermore, he wants all sons and daughters of the ancient city of Ogbomoso to work with the monarch to consolidate the successes of his forefathers.

Nigerians Reaction

Trust Nigerians, this kind of controversy does not go unnoticed. In fact, it has given many a window to express their diverse opinions on it.

Also, it allowed many to share their ideology and beliefs especially concerning Christianity.

Some Nigerians via their social media handles express displeasure over the appointment, while some claimed that there was nothing wrong with being a traditional ruler.

Well, one thing is sure, a man with the fear of God will surely do well, for as many that are led by the spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

Really, from scriptures, we could see that God is interested in who rules His people in this kingdom of His called earth.
