Manchester United has been in discussions with Bayern Munich regarding the potential acquisition of defender Benjamin Pavard.
With the aim of possibly filling the void that will be left by the impending departure of Harry Maguire, who is set to move to West Ham for £30 million.
Although talks have been initiated, there is no definitive agreement yet from Bayern Munich’s side.
Pavard, who mainly operates as a right-back for Bayern, has shown interest in leaving the Bundesliga club, as he does not intend to extend his contract which is due to expire in 2024.
The 27-year-old is being considered as a possible replacement for Maguire, as Manchester United seeks to offload Maguire and recover a portion of the £80 million they spent to acquire him from Leicester City in 2019, which was a record-breaking fee for a defender at that time.
