Farooq Olatunbosun Oreagba was born in 1966 in Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State, into the Oreagba Akeula family.

Farooq Oreagba began his educational journey in his hometown at Ijebu-Ode Grammar School.

He then attended Mayflower School in Ikenne, Ogun State, for his secondary education.

After completing his secondary education at Mayflower School, Oreagba earned a finance degree with distinction from Oxford University in London.

He furthered his studies with a master’s degree from the University of East London and another degree in Business Management from Coventry University.

3. Leadership In Nigeria’s Financial Sphere

Farooq Oreagba is a former managing director of the Nigerian Stock Exchange and Securities.

Currently, he serves as the managing director of NG Clearing Limited, a position he was appointed to in September 2023.

This appointment came nearly six years after he had to leave the financial sector due to health issues.

In 2014, Oreagba was diagnosed with both bone marrow and skin cancer.
However, after two years of battling the deadly disease, Oreagba was declared cancer-free and deemed healthy enough to return to work.

The financial guru, who recently turned 58, got his first tattoo after the age of 50.

Before he turned 50, he did not have any tattoos, and he did not drink or smoke.
