Consequently, the agreement will boost domestic capacity and create long-term economic benefits.

During a five-day visit to YJT facilities in Chengdu and Hangzhou, Pi-CNG’s delegation, led by Executive Chairman Ismaeel Ahmed, explored advanced technologies firsthand.

Moreover, the team visited Sichuan Witent Technology, a manufacturer of CNG conversion kits, to discuss establishing local assembly and full-scale production lines in Nigeria.

“By localising production and deploying smart monitoring technologies, we strengthen transparency, safety, and efficiency across the CNG and EV value chain,” he explained.

Smart Monitoring And Efficiency

The MoU requires local manufacturing of CNG dispensers, refuelling stations, and EV charging facilities.

In addition, YJT’s Internet of Things monitoring systems will integrate with Pi-CNG’s National Gas Vehicle Monitoring System, allowing real-time oversight of equipment, operational performance, regulatory compliance, and economic data across the nation.

The initiative reduces Nigeria’s dependence on imported infrastructure while lowering costs.

Earlier this year, Pi-CNG and the Abuja Municipal Area Council launched a CNG-powered tricycle pilot programme, giving commuters cleaner, more sustainable transport options.

Overall, the partnership embeds advanced technology locally and builds a resilient, inclusive, and sustainable transport energy system for Nigeria’s future.
