A Former lawmaker, Hon. Hassan Adamu Shekarau has dumped the All Progressives Congress (APC) few weeks to the 2023 general elections.

iBrandtv gathered that the politician who represented Birnin Gwari/Giwa Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives confirmed the withdrawal of his membership via a letter dated January 3, 2023, and addressed to his ward party chairman.
Shekarau cited personal reasons for his decision. The politician thanked members of the APC in Kaduna State who had supported him in times past.
However, it could not be confirmed yet which party the former lawmaker would join ahead of the forthcoming 2023 general elections.

“This is to convey to you my decision to resign as a member of the All Progressives Congress with effect from 3rd January 2023,” Shekarau noted in the letter addressed to the party.
