Senator Ifeanyi Ubah passed away on Saturday in London, United Kingdom.

The Chief Executive Officer of Capital Oil, who represented Anambra South in the upper chamber, was set to celebrate his 53rd birthday on September 3.

Indeed, his passing has left a vacuum in Anambra South Senatorial District and the entire nation.

Senator Ifeanyi Ubah is a popular and well-known politician, however, for those who may be curious to know more, here are 10 notable facts about him you need to know.

1. Early Life

Ubah passed away at the age of 52 and would have turned 53 on September 3, 2024.

2. Education

Due to financial constraints, Ubah dropped out of Premiere Academy, Lugbe, Abuja, to learn trade at a young age.
He later attended several local and international business courses and seminars.

3. Business Ventures

Ubah became an exporter of motor tyres and spare parts in West Africa and expanded his business into Europe, including Belgium and the UK.

4. Capital Oil

He founded Capital Oil in 2001, which has one of the largest tank farms for petroleum products storage and distribution in Lagos.

5. The Authority Newspaper

Ubah founded The Authority Newspaper, a daily Nigerian publication, which went live on October 15, 2015.

6. Ifeanyi Ubah Football Club/Foundation

He founded Ifeanyi Ubah F.C., a football club in the Nigeria Premier League, after purchasing it as Gabros International Football Club.
He also established the Ifeanyi Ubah Foundation.

Ubah contested the 2014 Anambra governorship election on the platform of the Labour Party but lost.

In September 2022, Ubah survived an ambush by gunmen in Enugwu-Ukwu, Anambra State.
His convoy was attacked, resulting in the deaths of at least five people, including two policemen. Ubah survived due to his bulletproof vehicle.

10. He was born as the first son of seven children to Mr. & Mrs. Alphonsus Ubah in Otolo, Nnewi, Anambra State.
