Elon Musk, the owner of Twitter and CEO of Tesla, has announced the establishment of a startup focused on artificial intelligence.
The recently formed company, named xAI, comprises a team of engineers who have previously worked at renowned companies such as OpenAI and Google.
Elon has previously expressed his belief that advancements in AI should be put on hold and that the industry requires regulatory measures.
According to him, the primary goal of this start-up is to gain a deeper understanding of reality.
Furthermore, the xAI website said the company would operate independently from Mr. Musk’s other ventures, but the technologies developed will have beneficial implications for his various businesses, including Twitter.
On Friday, July 14, 2023, the new company plans to host a Twitter Spaces chat, which could potentially disclose additional information about its objectives.
Spaces discussion with @xAI team tomorrow at 1pm PT
