The last month of 2024 saw an influx of foreigners to Nigeria, with many coming for one entertainment show or the other. American content creator, Woah Vicky, was one of them.
After her stay in Lagos, Nigeria, she is sharing her thoughts.
She draws attention to the stark contrast between the city’s lively nightlife and the struggles faced by many of its residents.
In a poignant post on her X account, Vicky highlighted the widespread poverty and hunger she witnessed during her visit.
While acknowledging Lagos’ reputation for its vibrant social scene, she called on people to look beyond the glamour and focus on the pressing issues affecting the local population.
“I recently visited Lagos, Nigeria, and while it is known for its nightlife and clubs, I couldn’t help but notice the bigger picture,” she wrote.
“So many people there are struggling with hunger and poverty. It’s heartbreaking to see visitors focusing solely on the parties when there’s such a clear need for help.”
Vicky stressed the importance of offering meaningful support to address these challenges.
Also, she highlights the need for a shift in mindset from tourism purely for entertainment to initiatives that bring lasting change.

“Nigeria needs prayer, missions, and tangible support, not just tourism for entertainment,” she added. “Let’s pray for this country and find ways to contribute to real change.”
