Former Big Brother Naija winner White Money recently updated fans on his music career during an Instagram Live session, where he shared insights from his recent eight-state tour of the United States.
In a clip from the session that has gone viral, White Money, whose real name is Hazel Oyeye Onou, expressed his views on fellow artiste Shallipopi’s artistry.
He suggested that Shallipopi’s rise as a hitmaker is less about vocal talent and more about the charisma he brings to his performances.
“Shallipopi doesn’t have a wonderful voice, but once he holds that mic and says ‘Plutomanians,’ it’s all about the swag.
Do you think it’s by voice? It’s not by voice,” White Money commented, attributing Shallipopi’s success primarily to his engaging personality.
White Money, who recently returned from an extensive tour in the U.S., emphasised that his experiences have given him a broader musical perspective than Shallipopi.
“I am in a good position to advise him because I am more exposed musically and entertainment-wise, so I can advise him, and he too can advise me. It’s vice versa,” he noted.
However, he added that his social media followers may not be well-equipped to offer him advice on music matters.
