Nigerian Fuji music legend, King Wasiu Ayinde Marshall, also known as KWAM 1 or K1 De Ultimate, is grieving the loss of his mother, Alhaja Halima Anifowoshe, who passed away at the age of 105.
The renowned musician shared the heartbreaking news on his social media pages, posting a photo of himself with his mother and writing: “Inna Lillahi wa inna ilayhi Raji’un. RIP Mama.”
This tragic loss comes shortly after the death of his wife, Alhaja Hafsat Ajoke Anifowoshe, who passed away on Tuesday after an undisclosed illness. She was laid to rest in accordance with Muslim rites at Abari cemetery in Lagos.
Peter Obi, the presidential candidate for the Labour Party in the 2023 general elections, extended his condolences to the bereaved Fuji maestro. In a message on X, he wrote:
“On behalf of my family, I sincerely sympathise with Alhaji Wasiu Ayinde Marshall, known as K1 De Ultimate (KWAM 1), who recently suffered a double bereavement.”
“The deaths of his ex-wife, Alhaja Hafsat Ajoke Anifowoshe, and his mother, Alhaja Halima Shadiya Anifowoshe, are indeed tragic.”
“I commiserate with him and his entire family during this challenging period of mourning. May Almighty Allah grant them the fortitude to bear this irreplaceable loss, forgive the sins of the departed, and grant them eternal rest.”
