Real Madrid star Vinicius Junior has reportedly declined a lucrative offer to join the Saudi Pro League, despite the Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF) attempting to lure the 24-year-old with a staggering €1 billion deal.
The proposal aimed to make Vinicius the face of the league ahead of the 2034 World Cup in Saudi Arabia, with reports suggesting his salary would be 13 times higher than what he currently earns at Real Madrid.
In a recent development, Brazilian outlet Globo reported that the PIF also reached out to the agents of Vinicius’ Real Madrid teammate, Éder Militão, earlier this week to gauge interest in a potential move to Saudi Arabia.
Vinicius, who has scored 83 goals in 264 appearances for Los Blancos and won 12 trophies, including two UEFA Champions League titles, remains committed to his current club.
The Saudi Pro League’s interest in recruiting top talent continues, as reports suggest that another club and country teammate of Vinicius has also been approached for a move to the Middle East.
