The Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara on Thursday met with his predecessor and current Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike.
Videos of the two emerged on the internet as a great surprise to many, the reason for this is no secret.
Some days ago, no one would believe that the duo would ever be at the same place, talk more of exchanging pleasantries.
But that was exactly what played out, the two leaders did not just meet, they exchanged pleasantries.
It happened in Port Harcourt, the State capital at the rededication service of the 2023/2024 Legal Year at the Saint Cyprian’s Anglican Church.
This was the first time both politicians would be meeting in public since the political crisis in the state.

Fubara, in a statement on Saturday, said it was important to make sacrifices for peace to reign in the state, stressing that no sacrifice is considered too much to achieve the objective.
The Governor addressed the setting ablaze of the state House of Assembly complex, the division among lawmakers and other series of events that led to chaos in the state.
The Intervention
Fubara also appreciated President Bola Tinubu’s intervention in the rift with his predecessor and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike.
He added that peace will undoubtedly prevail and would continue to work for the security and progress of our state.
