Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has revealed that his recent claim of ₦180 million being stolen from his NGO account was entirely fabricated.
He shared a video on his Instagram page on Tuesday.
Also, he offers an explanation and sharing his perspective on the fabricated story.
However, VDM admitted that the story was staged to emphasise the dangers of spreading unverified information.
Explaining his actions, VDM said: “The entire incident about the ₦180 million was deliberately orchestrated to expose how people blindly believe and spread unverified claims”.
However, VDM disclosed that the fabricated story was part of a broader effort to highlight the lack of critical thinking in media consumption.
“All I did was tell my website team to shut it down temporarily. The aim was to use this as a lesson to show how easily people can be misled. It’s time people started demanding proof before believing anything,” he added.
Furthermore, he also criticised the current state of the Nigerian entertainment and media industry.
Also, he highlighted its reliance on controversy to gain attention.
