Nigerians were still very angry at President Bola Tinubu for ignoring the suffering they were going through and flying off to the United Kingdom for a vacation when another shocking news emerged.
President Tinubu made his way to London on October 2, 2024, for a two-week break, according to the presidency.
A press release from the President’s Special Adviser on Media and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, mentioned that the ‘working vacation’ was included in his annual leave.
It also stated that the President will return to Nigeria after his leave.
Make no mistake, this trip marks the first occasion that President Tinubu will take a leave of absence since he took office in May 2023, despite having undertaken several international trips during that period.
However, the fact that the president left his citizens at a time of so much hardship and traveled out of the country was something that sparked so much anger among many.
Many described it as “doing the right thing at the wrong time”.
Atiku Vs Tinubu
More so, it became a good point for opposition parties to score a point.
Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), while reacting to the development noted that Tinubu, who he described by his latest nickname; T-pain, cared less about the people he ruled.
However, in the midst of this chaos, reports that President Bola Tinubu is set to extend his vacation to Paris, France emerged.

The development was disclosed on Friday by Ibrahim Kabir Masari, a close political confidant and former place-holder runningmate for Tinubu.
Trip To Paris
Masari shared on his Facebook page that following a nine-day stay in London, the President is scheduled to head to Paris for an undisclosed engagement.
He noted that he had visited President Tinubu at his private residence in London and announced that he would be accompanying the President to France.
He wrote: “Today, I had the honour of visiting President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR at his private residence in the United Kingdom, where we engaged in productive discussions.
“Together, we are now heading to Paris, France, for another significant engagement.”
