They say what does not kill you makes you stronger, and this rings true for renowned Nigerian music director and cinematographer, ThankGod Omori Smith, popularly known as TG Omori or Boy Director.
After battling a major health setback, the celebrated filmmaker has made a triumphant return to the industry after an unsuccessful kidney transplant.
Taking to his X page on Tuesday, Omori marked his comeback by sharing a striking photo of himself back on a music video set, camera in hand, ready to reclaim his creative throne.
Accompanying the image, he wrote: “Ok, let’s see if I can still rock this b*h.”
The award-winning director had undergone a kidney transplant in August 2024 at St. Nicholas Hospital in Lagos, with his only brother selflessly donating a kidney for the procedure.
Unfortunately, the transplant was unsuccessful.
The Recovery
This forces Omori to take a step back from his career to focus on recovery.
In a heartfelt message from his hospital bed last year, he assured his followers that he would return to the creative scene in 2025.
