Nigerian international sensation Tems, one of Africa’s most acclaimed musical exports, has released the music video for her single ‘Burning.’
The track is featured on her recently released debut album, ‘Born In the Wild.’
The Grammy winner’s music video was unveiled on Monday, August 5, 2024, after being delayed due to nationwide protests that erupted on Thursday, August 1, 2024.
These protests were sparked by the increasing economic hardship and cost of living crisis following some reforms implemented by President Bola Tinubu.
Demonstrators across various states demanded the reversal of the PMS and power subsidy removals and called for a reduction in the cost of governance.
The ‘Burning’ video was shot on the streets of New York, featuring Tems walking through parts of the iconic Times Square as she performs.
This release marks the third single from her 18-track album, following ‘Me & U’ and ‘Love Me Jeje,’ where she interpolated lines from the classic Seyi Sodimu & Shaffy Bello song.
Following the launch of her debut album, Tems has embarked on a world tour, delighting fans with her popular singles such as ‘Free Mind’ and ‘Higher,’ which have achieved significant commercial success.
