Renowned Dallas megachurch pastor T.D. Jakes has released his first public statement following a health scare that occurred during his sermon on Sunday, November 24, 2024.
The incident unfolded as Bishop Jakes, was delivering his sermon. Witnesses reported seeing him lower his microphone and begin to shudder on stage.
Church members and staff quickly surrounded him, and he received immediate medical attention.
In a statement shared on social media, Jakes’ team confirmed he was stable and under the care of healthcare professionals.
The church has not disclosed the cause of the episode, referring to it only as a “health incident.”
On Wednesday, November 27, 2024, T.D Jakes clarified he did not suffer a stroke.
Expressing gratitude to God and the medical team, he described himself as “forever humbled” by the overwhelming support and prayers from his followers.
Jakes did not specify when he would return to the pulpit, leaving his congregation awaiting further updates on his recovery.
