The Super Falcons of Nigeria have maintained their 36th position in the latest FIFA World Ranking, according to the update released by the world football governing body on Friday, August 16, 2024.
Despite a disappointing performance at the Paris Olympics, where the Falcons finished bottom of their group, they continue to hold the top spot in Africa, followed closely by South Africa’s Banyana Banyana.
In the Olympics, the Falcons struggled, losing 1-0 to Brazil in their opening match and suffering the same defeat against Spain.
Their campaign ended with a 3-1 loss to Japan, marking a disappointing return to the Olympic stage.
On the global front, the United States of America reclaimed the top position, while Spain dropped to third following the Olympic tournament.
