Nigerian rapper Speed Darlington, popularly known as Akpi, has broken his silence after being released from police custody, following his recent arrest by Burna Boy.
The arrest came after Darlington made defamatory comments in a video, where he questioned the authenticity of Burna Boy’s Grammy win.
Also, he alleged that American singer Diddy was involved in securing the award.
Speaking in a video after his release, Speed Darlington mocked Burna Boy.
He claims that “it takes 30 Naira million to carry me”.
He is referring to the cost of his release and positioning himself as a formidable figure.
However, Speed Darlington took a defiant stance.
He stated: “EFCC dey give bed, DSS dey give food. I don survive ground zero, what can you do to me next? If I go missing, na you; if you go missing, no be me.”
The rapper’s bold statement and nonchalant attitude toward his detention were emphasised in his caption for the video:
“Big fish; it takes 30 million to carry me.”
Speed Darlington’s comments have continued to fuel the ongoing feud between him and Burna Boy.
