With only days to Davido and Chioma’s wedding, the singer’s former partner and mother of his daughter, Imade, Sophia Momodu, has responded to his legal action against her.
Recently, Davido initiated a lawsuit seeking custody of Imade.
Furthermore, In a detailed press release, Sophia disclosed the reasons behind Davido’s decision to cease his responsibilities towards their daughter.
Sophia’s statement goes into the details of their co-parenting relationship and shedding light on the circumstances leading up to Davido’s legal move.
However, she elaborated on the issues that allegedly prompted Davido to stop providing for Imade, sparking widespread interest and discussion among fans.
Their Intimate Relationship
In her press statement, Sophia provided a timeline of her relationship with Davido.
She stated they were romantically involved from 2014 to 2017 and again from 2020 to 2022.
Also, she explained that during these periods, the singer offered financial assistance to both her and their daughter, Imade.
Furthermore, Sophia stated that she terminated her relationship with Davido in July 2022, after which he allegedly threatened to cause trouble for her unless she agreed to be intimate with him again.
She also said that Davido voluntarily chose not to spend time with their daughter, Imade, despite her never preventing him from doing so.

Furthermore, she claimed that Davido never contacted Imade during significant events such as her birthday or Christmas.
His Financial Obligations
Sophia claimed he consistently made social media posts portraying himself as a devoted father.
In Sophia’s press statement, she also outlined how Davido had failed to meet his financial obligations towards Imade.
Also, this included instances where he did not pay her school fees, despite the school making multiple attempts to contact him.
Furthermore, it was disclosed that Davido’s billionaire father, Adedeji Adeleke, intervened and covered the expenses instead.
