They say confronting your problems head-on is often the fastest route to resolving them.
Such is the case for controversial Nigerian singer, Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, who has been granted bail by the Isabo Magistrate Court in Abeokuta, Ogun State.
The embattled artiste appeared before the court on Thursday to answer to five-count charges.
Also, the charges includes conspiracy, assault, obstruction, possession of dangerous weapons such as cutlasses and firearms.
Despite the severity of the allegations, Portable pleaded not guilty to all charges.
Nine of his associates, Nurudeen Warris (21), Adetola Alashe (25), Samuel Adeleke (28), Oluwaseun Ayenuwa (19), Oluwapelumi Adeosun (20), Gospel Kanu (20), Precious Ohiegebo (19), Ifeoluwa Babatunde (27), and Fatimo Muhammed (26) were also arraigned on similar charges before Magistrate O. L. Oke.
The Clash
The charges stem from an alleged assault on three town planning officials who were carrying out their lawful duties at Odogwu Bar.
Also, Odogwu Bari is a property owned by Portable.
The court heard that the defendants, led by Portable, obstructed and attacked the officials in a violent altercation.
Despite the gravity of the accusations, Portable’s legal counsel, Oluwatoyin Ayodele, pleaded with the court to grant him bail.

Also, he argues that the singer had shown remorse and had learnt his lesson.
Taking this into account, Magistrate O. L. Oke granted Portable bail in the sum of ₦2 million.
Also, the case is adjourned until March 5 for trial.
