Colombian singer Shakira has revealed that she is currently hospitalised after experiencing abdominal issues on Saturday, February 15, 2025.
The 48-year-old singer, known for hits like Hips Don’t Lie, informed fans via Instagram that doctors admitted her to the ER. Due to her health, she confirmed she would not perform in Lima, Peru, as planned.
“I am sorry to inform you all that last night I had to go to the ER for an abdominal issue and am currently hospitalized,” she said.
Shakira also explained that after consulting with doctors, they advised her not to perform during her scheduled show that evening.
“The doctors have advised me that I’m not well enough to perform tonight.”
Expressing her disappointment, Shakira added, “I am very sad to not be able to take the stage today.”
I’ve been looking forward to reuniting with my incredible fans here in Peru.”
She assured her fans that efforts are already underway to reschedule the concert, stating, “My team and the promoters are already working on a new date to communicate to you.”
Shakira concluded her message with gratitude, saying, “Thank you all for your understanding. I love you all,” signing off with “Shak.”
