Nigerian Afrobeat singer Seun Kuti has spoken out to clarify his relationship with online activist VeryDarkMan.
This was revealed amidst the controversy surrounding social media personality Bobrisky and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
As the debate continues over a leaked audio call involving Bobrisky and an EFCC official.
Seun Kuti, son of the legendary Fela Kuti, sought to distance himself from the controversy.
He explained that while he is acquainted with Verydarkman, he has no control over the activist’s actions, particularly when it comes to the online leak.
Addressing the situation, Seun explained that Verydarkman had informed him about Bobrisky’s alleged bribery attempt with the EFCC, intending to expose the matter.
However, Seun firmly denied having any prior knowledge of the recorded audio or its contents.
“I was only made aware after the fact,” Seun explained.
“Verydarkman shared with me his intentions, but I had no role in the release of the recording. I couldn’t influence his actions, even if I had tried. He’s an independent thinker, and if I had objected, he wouldn’t have listened.”
Seun Kuti’s statement serves to clear the air.
