Mohamed Salah sits inside the top three when it comes to Liverpool all-time greats, but the Egyptian has been told why he will never be No.1.
The Reds moved to bring former Chelsea winger Salah back to English football in the summer of 2017.
Few knew what to expect at that stage, but the prolific forward has gone on to shatter countless records with his exploits at Anfield.
Salah has registered 237 goals for Liverpool through 383 appearances, surging beyond 150 in the Premier League, and counts Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup, League Cup and FIFA Club World Cup titles among his collection of honours.
Did You Know?
Questions are being asked of how much longer the 32-year-old will be sticking around, as his contract runs down towards free agency, but he will walk away with a standing among the Liverpool immortals safely secured whenever the day comes to bid farewells on Merseyside.
Quizzed on where Salah sits on that list, former Reds striker Stan Collymore – speaking in association with William Hill Vegas – told GOAL:
“You look at the runners and riders – you are looking at Kenny Dalglish, Steven Gerrard, Ian Rush. Crikey, there are so many players you could think of. But a top five player for sure.
“He wouldn’t get in above Kenny or Gerrard.
“That might sound odd because he may come out having won more than Steven Gerrard, but I think the amount that Liverpool were carried by Gerrard and of course Kenny Dalglish won everything there was to win in a dominant Liverpool era.
“I would put him number three – Kenny Dalglish first and Steven Gerrard second.”
