Senator Aisha Dahiru Binani , the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Sunday, April 16, was declared winner of the Adamawa State Governorship election by an unauthorised member of the electoral body.
Collation of election results were still ongoing when Yunusa Ari, the state Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) declared the female contestant winner.
That declaration is causing so much uproar.

Senator Aisha Dahiru Binani is a politician, entrepreneur, and the founder of the Binani Group, which includes, among others, Binani Printing Press and Binani Air.
Furthermore, Aisha is renowned for her tenacity and modesty in her role as the senator for Adamawa Central and the APC’s candidate for governor.
She previously served as a representative for the federal constituency of Yola North/Yola South/Girei in the House of Representatives as a member of the People’s Democratic Party in the 7th Assembly (2011–2015).
In 2021, Binani won the APC governorship nomination in Adamawa state by defeating six male contenders, including Nuhu Ribadu, the first chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.
