Nigerian comedian, Bright Okpocha, popularly known as Basketmouth, has tendered a public apology to those he may have offended.
He pleaded with fellow comedian Ayo Makun, popularly known as A.Y., and others whose careers were affected by his past actions to forgive him for his shortcomings.
In a video posted on his X page with the caption, “I Just Want To Get This Off My Chest”, Basketmouth made it known that he wants to live in peace and harmony.
“Now, to all the people in the industry that I’ve offended over time, knowingly or unknowingly, I say this to you right now.
I Am Genuinely Sorry
“From the bottom of my heart, I am genuinely sorry. Please forgive me.
“To the people who have accused me of mean things that have affected their careers in one way or another, I am not going to accept or deny these allegations.
“God knows the truth, but regardless, please forgive me. I beg you from the bottom of my heart.
Basketmouth, who referred to AY as “my guy,” asked him to let go of what transpired in the past.

“Now, to my guy AY, I don’t know if my apology is still valid right now, but if it is, please forgive me for whatever I have done or said in the past that has affected you in any way. Please, forgive me.

“I want you to know that I’ve forgiven you for whatever you said, knowingly or unknowingly. It’s gone; I just want us to live in peace and harmony.”
Mixed reactions followed this apology in the comment section, as many applauded Basketmouth’s courage and maturity to publicly ask for forgiveness.
However, others were of the opinion that he was only doing it for the camera.
