During a court hearing, Mohbad’s personal assistant testified that it was the singer’s father who called for a quick burial.
As surprising as it may sound, the PA revealed that the call came after he received a ₦2million donation from Davido.
The statement has sparked further inquiry into the handling of the late artist’s death.
Adeyemo, who is also Mohbad’s nephew, shared this while testifying at the inquest set up by the Lagos State Government to determine the cause of the singer’s untimely death.
However, Mohbad passed away on September 12, 2023, under suspicious circumstances.
Also, he was buried the following day.
As public outcry for justice intensified, his body was exhumed on September 21, 2023, for an autopsy at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH).
In court, Adeyemo also testified that he transferred ₦1 million to Aloba.
Also, he gave the remaining amount to Adura, Mohbad’s younger brother, after covering hospital and ambulance expenses.
Meanwhile, he noted that investigators took custody of the singer’s phone following his death.
Despite his relatively short career, Mohbad left a significant mark on the Nigerian music industry.
His street anthems, energetic performances, and relatable lyrics earned him a loyal fan base.
