Ondo State Deputy Governor, Agboola Ajayi may have lost out on the Peoples Democratic Party gubernatorial ticket, but he certainly isn’t staying down.
Having lost to Eyitayo Jegede in the party primary shortly after decamping from the All Progressives Congress, the former lawmaker is now set to contest the coming election on the platform of the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP).
Ajayi was touted as a potential running mate to Jegede, but in a stunning twist of events, he yesterday, ditched the party for ZLP.
Chairman of the PDP in Apoi Ward ll of Ese-Odo Local Government Area, Festys Oboro, confirmed Ajayi’s resignation on August 9, 2020.

His decision eliminates Rotimi Benjamin – ZLP’s initial candidate – from the running for governor as it has been learnt that Ajayi has been automatically adopted to contest on the Party’s platform.
While he may have slugged it out with Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, and congratulated Eyitayo Jegede on his emergence, Ajayi certainly isn’t finished with the state politics as time will prove to tell.
