Cedric Bakambu has signed a two and half year deal as an Olympique Marseille player.
Cedric Bakambu is a professional footballer who plays for DR Congo and was an ex striker for Spanish side Villareal.
He made his professional debut for second tier football club Sochaux in 2010, over the course of five seasons, he appeared in 107 official games for them, scoring 21 goals.
Afterward, he moved to Bursaspor for €1.8 million, where he was the top scorer as his team finished second in the Turkish Cup, before joining Villarreal a year later. He had 71 appearances, scoring 48 goals for the Spanish side.
Bakambu will face strong competition from Polish striker Arkadiusz Milik for the spot of first team striker. The Polish man has struggled to perform under Jorge Sampaoli this season and might leave OM with Juventus keen on the forward.
A good deal could convince president Pablo Longoria to let Milik go.
