Nigerian-Heritage Footballer Jordan Chiedozie In Coma After Accident 

English-born Jordan Chiedozie is fighting for his life after being hit by a car on the motorway. The 30-year-old player was involved in a serious accident that has left him with severe and potentially life-changing injuries.

Chiedozie had played for non-league side Bashley FC in an away game against Tavistock over the weekend. Tragically, the accident occurred while he was traveling back from the match with Bashley physio Reighan Taylor.

Their vehicle, a Volkswagen Golf suffered a flat tire on the motorway, and Chiedozie was struck by a Mercedes Benz SLX when he stepped out to assess the situation.

The injuries sustained by Chiedozie have been described as “life-changing, and potentially life-threatening.” He was rushed to Southampton Hospital with multiple broken bones and other physical injuries.

Reacting to the incident, the club, in a statement, wrote: “Everyone connected with Bashley Football Club is devastated by the news of our player Jordan Chiedozie, currently in the hospital with life-changing, and potentially life-threatening injuries, after a serious car crash.

Jordan was taken to Southampton Hospital with multiple broken bones and other physical injuries. At this time, he remains in a controlled coma.”

Meanwhile, the 44-year-old woman driver of the Mercedes Benz has been arrested on suspicion of drink-driving and causing serious injury through dangerous driving.
